Assistant Executive Housekeeper

The Assistant Executive Housekeeper supports the Executive Housekeeper in managing the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department. The position is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, guest satisfaction, and team performance throughout the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Executive Housekeeper in planning, organizing, and supervising daily housekeeping operations.

Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and facilities are maintained according to hotel standards.

Supervise and coordinate the work of Room Attendants, Public Area Attendants, Housemen, and other housekeeping staff.

Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation standards are consistently achieved.

Monitor room status and coordinate closely with Front Office regarding room availability, discrepancies, VIP arrivals, early check-ins, and special requests.

Assist in preparing staff schedules, assignments, attendance records, and daily operational reports.

Train, coach, and motivate housekeeping employees to improve productivity, service quality, and adherence to hotel procedures.

Ensure proper handling, storage, and control of housekeeping supplies, amenities, linen, uniforms, and equipment.

Monitor inventory levels and assist with monthly stocktaking and purchasing requirements.

Handle guest requests and complaints professionally and ensure appropriate follow-up.

Ensure compliance with hotel policies, health and safety procedures, hygiene standards, and fire and emergency procedures.

Coordinate with Engineering regarding room defects, maintenance issues, and preventive maintenance requirements.

Assist with housekeeping budgets, cost control, and efficient use of departmental resources.

Support the Executive Housekeeper in implementing quality improvement initiatives and maintaining departmental standards.

Assume responsibility for the Housekeeping Department in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field.

Minimum 2 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel, preferably with supervisory experience.

Good knowledge of hotel housekeeping operations, cleaning procedures, linen management, and inventory control.

Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with hotel property management systems.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and service quality.
