MECHANICAL ENGINEER

You will execute in-house mechanical engineering design work products and services within specified milestones and quality standards.

You will analyze / design extensive engineering alterations and modifications to existing facilities to meet the everchanging demands placed upon the shore establishments of the Navy, Marine Corps, and other Supported Commands.

You will lead multi-disciplinary in-house (IH) design teams, executing IH projects as well as overseeing design efforts accomplished via Architectural/Engineering (A/E) firms.

You will coordinate the mechanical engineering design with the engineering disciplines for Design-Bid- Build (DBB) and Design-Build (DB) projects to ensure overall compatibility and efficiency of the site and building design.

You will conduct technical management and oversight on execution of multi-disciplinary design projects whether accomplished by IH or A/E forces.

You will plan / lead project design conferences/work sessions and on-site Functional Analysis Concept Development (FACD) and/or charrettes with stakeholders to determine project requirements and to develop concept designs.

You will provide post construction award services (PCAS), including review and approval of contractor's submittals for conformance with the requirements of the contract drawings and specifications.

You will mentor and train new and junior mechanical engineers within the organization.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience as a professional MECHANICAL ENGINEER at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Leading production of facilities mechanical engineering design packages, including design drawings, plans, specifications and design-build requests for proposal; 2) Reviewing facilities mechanical engineering design submittals to provide subject matter expert acceptance recommendations to officials; and 3) Providing facilities mechanical engineering design consultation services to officials during construction.
