The posting
About us
Satispay began by rethinking the simple act of a payment to remove the friction from our daily routines. But we didn't stop there. Today, we are building a complete financial platform designed to empower people and concretely improve their lives.
By giving our 6 million users a clear, open path to pay, save, and invest, we are evolving into the definitive destination for every financial need.
What you'll be doing
As our Legal Counsel, your focus will be on providing high-level legal guidance within the dynamic Fintech sector, particularly in payments, e-money, and consumer credit products. You will offer strategic counsel on regulatory, contractual, and product-related matters to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. Here's what your day-to-day will look like:
Product development support – Collaborate cross-functionally to design and launch new products and services in Payments and Consumer Credit (such as BNPL), integrating basic technical and engineering considerations into legal analysis.
Risk assessment & management – Identify legal and regulatory risks, proposing effective mitigation strategies aligned with our risk appetite to safeguard the organization.
Regulatory compliance – Advise on relevant financial regulatory requirements, including PSD2, AML/KYC, e-money regulations, and CCD2, ensuring adherence.
Stakeholder management – Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing pragmatic legal guidance and fostering a culture of legal awareness across the organization.
Who we're looking for
We need a problem-solver who loves teamwork and gets things done. If you're curious and ready for real ownership, you'll fit in!
Does this sound like you?
Relevant education – Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years PQE, and ideally 8–10 years of professional legal experience.
Relevant technical and regulatory knowledge – Deep knowledge of financial and consumer credit regulations (PSD2, AML/KYC, EMRs, CCD2) and a demonstrable track record in Fintech and Payments, ideally with experience in both private practice and in-house settings.
Analytical mindset – Ability to dive deep into complex legal issues, exercise strong judgment, and make sound risk-based decisions.
Technical and commercial awareness – Clear understanding of basic technology and engineering processes in Fintech, Payments, and consumer lending, with prior experience working with technical teams being a significant plus; ability to balance legal risks with commercial considerations.
Language fluency – English fluency (both written and spoken) is essential, while knowledge of Italian or French is a plus for effective communication within our international context.
