Location: Remote role in either Providence, Rhode Island, or Boston, Massachusetts. Note: Candidates must have an active Rhode Island law license and 3+ years of insurance defense and/or litigation experience.

Handle litigation matters from pleadings through discovery, motion practice, and resolution

Draft motions, briefs, legal memoranda, pleadings, and discovery responses

Take and defend depositions

Appear in court and work directly with clients

Conduct legal research, analyze case facts, and develop litigation strategy

Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and the court

Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials as needed

Collaborate with experienced attorneys and strong support staff on active matters

Defend a variety of civil litigation matters including general liability, personal injury, construction defect, commercial trucking, and employment-related claims

Qualifications

J.D. required

Active Rhode Island bar admission required

3+ years of insurance defense and/or litigation experience

Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills

Experience drafting motions and other legal memoranda

Experience with discovery, depositions, and court appearances

Able to manage cases independently while working well as part of a team

Active Massachusetts, New Hampshire, or Connecticut bar admission is a plus

Ability to transfer UBE score is a plus

Employment law, construction defect, and/or commercial trucking experience is a plus
