As a IT Specialist (INFOSEC/CONMON), GS-2210-14, your typical work assignments may include: Manages, leads, or oversees teams of contractor and government personnel in a matrix environment to achieve optimal solutions.

Analyzes DHS, DNI and other Federal information security policies and standards and determines applicability to I&A intelligence requirements and systems. Identifies solutions to Cybersecurity continuous monitoring requirements, applying the appropriate mixture of technology, policy, and procedures to create the optimal solution.

Prepares briefings, documents and other forms of communication to present solutions to authorizing officials. Develops short and long-range plans for the continuous monitoring program that anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risk associated with IT systems vulnerabilities.

Individual Occupational Requirement This position has an Individual Occupational Requirement that must be met prior to meeting the specialized experience.

Applicant must possess IT-related experience demonstrating each of the nine (9) competencies listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. Specialized Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess the specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through federal service.

For this position, specialized experience is defined as: Extensive knowledge in Analyzing, evaluating, and verifying security profiles for Federal agency computer systems, networks, worldwide Information Systems (IS) and telecommunication systems to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical government information.

General knowledge in Managing appropriated funds in compliance with policies, procedures and guidelines established by the Office of the Controller and OBM. Issues operating budget plans or targets upon receipt of approved allowances.

Extensive knowledge in Implementing an effective continuous monitoring (CONMON) process/program and developing, defining, and delivering briefings to senior level government stakeholders; applies analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of real or potential threats to the intelligence enterprise (IE).

Extensive knowledge in Planning of strategic goals for subordinates, sets and adjust short and long-term priorities based on leadership's objectives.

Extensive knowledge in Managed the development, design, composition, and editing of various types of documents and materials for communicating cybersecurity information with senior leadership, federal departments, and agencies. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.

Emergency Essential personnel must be able to serve during a continuity of operation event without regard to declarations of liberal leave or government closures due to weather, protests, and acts of terrorism or lack of funding.

Headquarters personnel in safety- or security-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing and all applicants tentatively selected for employment at DHS Headquarters are subject to drug testing resulting in a negative test result.
