SUPV IT SPECIALIST (SYSANALYSIS)

DUTY 1: Responsible for managing and overseeing the work related to planning, designing, and implementing IT systems to match the business requirements of customer organizations.

DUTY 2: Provides advanced IT expertise in the production of integrated architectures by in-depth knowledge of IT design, tools, methods, and techniques, as well as life cycle management concepts, cost benefit analysis, systems architecture, and integration techniques. DUTY 3: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.

DUTY 4: Keeps abreast of emerging technology to predict future network needs.

This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Supervision/Management" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level.

The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 (Alternative A) BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

Knowledge of IT policies, entities, missions, resources, operations, capabilities, databases, and requirements to perform intelligence research and operations planning, collection target analysis, and/or other intelligence related activities.

Knowledge of system design tools, methods and techniques; life cycle management concepts, cost benefit analysis, architecture, integration techniques and testing methods; and procurement techniques and requirements.

Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private Sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

Knowledge of security procedures to maintain and control of classified material.

Knowledge of system design tools, methods, and techniques; life cycle management concepts, cost benefit analysis, architecture, integration techniques and testing methods; and procurement techniques and requirements. Knowledge of safety, security, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.

Advanced knowledge of customary approaches, techniques, and requirements appropriate to analyze requirements. Develop acquisition strategies and implement systems enhancements.

Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances, to apply internet technologies to analyze networks and the related security aspects and predict how management can meet future requirements.

Ability to analyze, plan, organize, direct, and adjust the functions and supervise, mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, in order to produce technical reports and/or briefings; and to maintain good working relationships and lead project teams.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: Information Assurance: Complete DoD 8570 requirements within 6 months of selection.

Per DoD 8570,01M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six-month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.2. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
