About the role We are looking for a Legacy Application Support Engineer to join Dura Digital ’s Digital Engineering Studio and support business-critical applications within complex operational environments.
This role focuses on the maintenance, troubleshooting, enhancement, and ongoing support of legacy desktop and service-based applications used across industrial, loading, shipping, and operational processes.
You will work directly with business users, technical teams, and operational stakeholders to diagnose issues across interconnected environments, including applications, databases, Windows systems, hardware devices, and third-party integrations.
This role is well suited for someone who enjoys solving complex production issues, working across both software and infrastructure components, and supporting applications that are essential to day-to-day business operations. What you will do
Support, maintain, and enhance legacy applications built with VB.NET and SQL Server.
Troubleshoot production issues across connected application and operational environments.
Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement effective long-term solutions.
Support Windows Forms desktop applications and Windows service-based applications.
Write and optimize T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and database scripts.
Monitor and troubleshoot integrations with OPC services and other IT/OT systems.
Diagnose issues involving Windows operating systems, RFID scanners, printers, FTP processes, and other connected devices.
Collaborate directly with end users to understand issues, communicate progress, and validate solutions.
Participate in application deployments, testing, production validation, and ongoing system improvements.
Maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and application knowledge.
Work closely with business, technical, and operational teams to ensure application reliability and continuity.
What you bring - Core requirements
Professional experience supporting and maintaining enterprise applications in production environments.
Hands-on experience with VB.NET.
Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
Experience supporting Windows Forms desktop applications and Windows services.
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
Experience working with Windows operating systems and connected technical environments.
Ability to communicate directly and effectively with end users and client stakeholders in English.
Experience working with incident management, production support, and application maintenance processes.
Proficiency with version control tools such as Git.
Experience working in Agile environments and with tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
Nice to have
Experience with IT/OT integrations and OPC services.
Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, logistics, transportation, or operational systems.
Familiarity with RFID scanners, printers, FTP processes, and hardware-integrated applications.
Knowledge of wholesale loading and shipping processes for rail or truck transportation.
Experience with application monitoring, deployments, and production validation.
Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar incident management platforms.
