Management Analyst (Workers' Compensation)

As a Management Analyst (Workers' Compensation) your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Serves as the program administrator for the Workers' Compensation and Continuation of Pay (COP) program, coordinating program execution across the assigned geographic area.

Analyzes injury compensation workload, COP utilization, processing timeliness, compliance trends, and outcome data within the geographic area to evaluate the effectiveness of the OWCP program in meeting statutory, regulatory, and operational objectives.

Integrates workers' compensation and COP program requirements into geographic-area wildland fire business practices, including incident administration, preparedness planning, and emergency response operations.

Develops and delivers training, reference materials, and communication tools to support consistent execution and continuous improvement of workers' compensation and COP processes across the geographic area.

In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualification requirements listed below. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience.

Failure to adequately provide information needed to determine number of hours worked in each position may result in that time not being credited when evaluating qualifying experience.

For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. Only experience and education obtained by 10/07/2026 will be considered. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience.

Examples of work experience include: administering or evaluating workers' compensation programs, including applying the Federal Employees' Compensation Act (FECA), Office of Workers' Compensation Programs (OWCP) requirements, and Continuation of Pay (COP) procedures; analyzing workers compensation program operations to identify deficiencies, assess risks, and recommend improvements to program effectiveness; interpreting and applying workers' compensation laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to resolve complex program issues.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary and involves extended periods of analysis, coordination, and decision-making, including during periods of elevated operational tempo.

Working Conditions: The work is performed in an office or administrative environment, with additional pressure associated with supporting emergency wildland fire operations and time-sensitive decisions.
