Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Develops, directs, and implements a program to establish and maintain the confidentiality of BLS respondent-identifiable statistical data Directs BLS activities nation-wide related to policy and legal matters and provides assistance and advice to BLS managers and staff Coordinates all BLS Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and directs BLS activities related to FOIA Manages the development and implementation of BLS management policies and programs with a nationwide scope Develops and carries out ad hoc management studies as well as continuously scheduled program reviews to evaluate, advise on, and improve the effectiveness of work methods and procedures

Specialized experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.

To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. GS-15: Applicants must demonstrate at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the next lower grade level, GS-14, in the federal service.

Specialized experience includes demonstrating ALL of the below: Conducting work involving the theories, principles and practices of policy and legal matters, examples of which include the Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act of 2018 Title 3 - Confidential Information Protection and Statistical Efficiency Act (CIPSEA), the Privacy Act, the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), the Paperwork Reduction Act, the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), employee ethics and conflict of interest, and/or appropriations law and regulations; Partnering with other statistical agencies and/or outside entities, such as OMB; Leading program reviews; and Directing subordinate staff on various projects and policy research.
