The Winterthur libraries are offering an apprenticeship as an Information and Documentation Specialist starting August 2027.

Do you enjoy being in contact with people of all ages and take pleasure in assisting them in their search for media such as books, newspapers, magazines, image and film material in both analogue and digital form, as well as reliable information from other sources? Are you interested in the Winterthur libraries' offerings in library education, robotics, as well as the studio and audio-visual studio?

## Your training with us ##

The three-year vocational training takes place in various departments of the Winterthur libraries, supplemented by external internships in an archive and/or a documentation centre as well as in academic libraries. In practical training, you will work with

*

* customer service and at the information desk

*

* presentation and maintenance of the media collection

*

* cataloguing media

*

* preparing and conducting events and class visits

*

* teaching the use of various digital and analogue devices

*

In addition, you will attend the general vocational school Zurich abz and inter-company courses to deepen practical tasks and topics. Attending the vocational baccalaureate school is possible during the apprenticeship.

## Your profile ##

* Secondary school leaving certificate level A

*

* good grades in language subjects (oral and written) as well as good work, learning and social behaviour

*

* enjoyment in contact with people and working in a team

*

* service awareness, reliability and sense of order

*

* good oral and written communication

*

* broad general knowledge and interest in cultural, political and social topics

*

* interest in electronic media and information technologies

*
