About SafeLease

At SafeLease , we're rethinking how P&C insurance is sold in an age of technological change. We believe the industry's biggest inefficiencies aren't technical problems — they're structural ones. And we're building the team to tackle them.

SafeLease is a profitable insurance business that designs, underwrites, and distributes specialty coverage for commercial property owners and their tenants. Most insurance companies either distribute products or bear the risk — we do both.

We back our policies with our own capital, which means we control the full stack: product design, tech, and the speed at which we move. That end-to-end ownership lets us offer customers real flexibility, saving time and money for more than 4,000 properties insured for billions in value nationwide.

We're a team of 70, growing over 100% annually, and we've done it without sacrificing profitability or culture. Here, you'll get high discretion and a wide aperture of problems to solve. We embrace the newest technologies, move fast together, and operate with the intensity of a small company where every person's work is visible. If you're looking for a place to sharpen your craft alongside people who take their work seriously, you'll fit right in.

About the Role

As a Business Development Representative (BDR), Manufactured Housing , you’ll be an early member of the team responsible for building SafeLease ’s presence within the Manufactured Housing industry.

You’ll own top-of-funnel prospecting to identify, engage, and qualify Manufactured Housing operators across the country. You’ll often be reaching senior and C-suite executives, so success in this role requires more than simply making a high volume of calls. You’ll need to be curious, confident, empathetic, and capable of having thoughtful business conversations with sophisticated buyers.

As one of the first BDRs dedicated to this market, you’ll also have a meaningful role in helping us build the playbook . You’ll test messaging, learn directly from the market, identify what resonates with operators, and share those insights with sales and leadership as we refine our go-to-market strategy.

The ideal candidate is highly coachable, competitive, comfortable with ambiguity, and excited by the opportunity to help build something.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to accelerate their sales career while making an impact from day one. High-performing BDRs will have opportunities for career growth within a company where exceptional performance is recognized and rewarded.

What You’ll Do

Prospect into Manufactured Housing operators and ownership groups through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other outbound channels

Identify and engage key decision-makers, including C-suite and senior executives

Navigate gatekeepers thoughtfully and professionally to reach the right stakeholders

Lead with curiosity and empathy to understand how prospects operate today before positioning a solution

Conduct early qualification and uncover enough business context to determine whether an opportunity warrants a deeper sales conversation

Partner closely with Account Executives to create high-quality qualified opportunities and build pipeline

Research target accounts and personalize outreach based on the organization and individual you're contacting

Test different messaging, talk tracks, and approaches and provide feedback on what you're hearing from the market

Maintain accurate prospecting activity and opportunity context within our sales systems

Contribute to the development of our Manufactured Housing BDR playbook as the team learns and scales

Who You Are

You have a strong desire to build a career in sales and are motivated by measurable goals and performance-based compensation

You're genuinely curious and ask thoughtful questions instead of immediately jumping into a pitch

You're comfortable communicating with senior executives and can be confident without being overly aggressive

You understand that empathy and persistence can coexist and you're willing to keep going without treating prospects like numbers

You're comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls and hearing “no”

You communicate clearly and naturally over the phone, email, and LinkedIn

You're resourceful and willing to find creative ways to reach difficult-to-access decision-makers

You're collaborative and willing to share what you're learning with the broader team

You're competitive and performance-driven while still being a great teammate

You're always looking for ways to improve your own effectiveness and find new paths to success

Experience

1+ year of sales, business development, customer-facing, or similarly high-accountability experience preferred, but not required

Demonstrated track record of success in a professional, academic, athletic, or other performance-driven environment
