Supervisory Clinical Psychologist

• Conducts psychological tests for differentiating between organic and functional causes of emotional disturbances and/or behaviors. - Provides assessment, diagnosis and psychotherapy utilizing a broad range of therapeutic techniques as indicated by the specific needs of children, adolescents, adults, groups, and their families. - Provides thorough and concise written documentation of evaluations, treatment and case management services, psychological test summaries, treatment plans, referrals, and correspondence. - Documents and forwards appropriate clinical referrals and records and liaisons with outside treatment professionals and the local contract health billing office. - Provides consultation to a wide variety of Indian Health Service staff including physicians and other health care professionals, paraprofessionals, and mental health clinicians in providing and interpreting psychological evaluations and testing. - Participates in clinic, hospital-wide, and area-wide continuing education activities by providing accredited and non-accredited in service trainings on a rotational basis to physicians, nurses, allied healthcare professionals, administrators and mental health professionals Total Compensation Package - Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Psychologist Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov)

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Degree: Clinical psychology: For positions at grades GS-11 and above, satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required.

In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS14: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Planning, organizing, improving and implementing behavioral, health issues; Providing psychological care and consultation services, to patients while establishing behavioral health standards of care; providing a wide range of psychological testing, evaluation and clinical services; Providing efficient patient care delivery, and compliance with applicable health center policies and accreditation standards.

Providing leadership in the development of policies and procedures related to outpatient mental health services. In addition to the minimum requirements.

Selective Factor: completion of a professional psychology internship training program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or board certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology is determined to be essential to perform the duties and responsibilities as a clinical psychologist.

Applicants who do not meet a selective placement factor are ineligible for further consideration. AND Selective Factor: possess an active, current, unrestricted, state license as Clinical Psychologist.

Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
