IT Project Manager (APPSW)

As a IT Project Manager (APPSW), your typical work assignments may include: Administering and managing forensic IT software projects on an enterprise scale for major office or program initiatives of major significance and impact.

Providing expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical IT training issues; applying new developments to previously unsolvable problems. Ensuring compliance with security protocols to meet DOJ and DEA requirements.

Providing DEA representation to and close liaison and cooperation with principal officials of associated and companion agencies and organizations, both domestic and international, to assist in the accomplishment of DEA forensic sciences programs.

Coordinating Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to ensure network compatibility with laboratory program requests.

Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-13 grade level.

Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate ALL of the following:1) Serving as the lead technical expert and authority on the design, development, and maintenance of a complex forensic IT network that integrates various technologies under a unified architecture. 2) Developing long-range program goals, budget, objectives, milestones, infrastructure architecture, and plans for integration with existing applications. 3) Analyzing and resolving difficult customer support integration or configuration requests for different platforms, operating systems, applications, and desktop configurations.
