Functional overview
The role of the NCI Project Manager - Lead is to establish, implement, develop, and control best practices for IT project & service management throughout the organization. This includes defining and documenting all policies and processes of project & service lifecycles in order to deliver these projects according to plan and within budget.
The NCI service Manager will also create formal methodologies for defining project key performance metrics and allocating resources. These projects and service includes the architecture area which will bring the basis to the projects and service design.
Duties and responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
Lead NCI Service delivery area
Organize and negotiate the allocation of IT resources.
Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
Ensure the efficient utilization of IT resources – including personnel and equipment – across the organization.
Oversee all reports and documentation related to projects, architecture and services.
Develop maintenance schedules for network and systems equipment.
Participate in the budget design and control.
Define how the scope, goals, and deliverables of IT projects should support business goals, in collaboration with senior management.
Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project lifecycle.
Effectively communicate and manage project expectations to project managers, owners, sponsors, team members, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise fashion.
Establish project timelines and milestones/deliverables using the appropriate tools.
Determine frequency and content of status reports from project managers, analyse results, and troubleshoot problem areas/mitigate project risks.
Acquisition & Deployment
Effectively manage project, architecture and service teams’ time and allocate resources to ensure deliverables are completed.
Where required, negotiate with department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from the operation department to assign time to projects.
Assess and approve/disapprove need for additional staff or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary, during project’s lifecycle.
Operational Management
Direct and manage development of all IT projects within the PMO portfolio from beginning to end.
Develop best practices, techniques, and tools for project planning, execution, project management, ongoing milestone/deliverable tracking, communication, and key performance metrics.
Establish the service portfolio, SLA’s, KPI’s and service lifecycle and continuous improvement process.
Communicate project and service management standards and techniques to the appropriate training staff.
Review budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
Track and monitor all project milestones and deliverables.
Track and monitor all NCI service and deliverables, making a QoS process to ensure the service quality.
Demand and relationship management.
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
Accept and assess status reports, change requests, and requirements documentation to ensure smooth project progression.
Ensure the alignment of the architecture with the Technology Master plan.
Ensure all documentation related to the Inchcape technology architecture and the worldwide dependencies.
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within and between various project teams.
Minimum qualifications
5+ years in a lead/manager role
Can work both as a Project Manager and Service Delivery.
Experience managing projects in a lead role and handling IT services/teams
Managing IT infrastructures
Experience handling international accounts, multi-cultural environments.
A well rounded player when it comes to communication skills
University degree in the field of computer science .and/or 10 years equivalent work experience.
