Project Manager/Project Architect
Opsis is seeking a Project Manager / Project Architect to join our team.
This individual will collaborate with Principals to support and coordinate project teams throughout the life of a project. The ideal candidate pairs strong design awareness with practical leadership skills and a focus on delivering well-executed, technically sound work.
In this role, the Project Manager / Project Architect represents Opsis from initial client engagement through construction completion. They guide day-to-day project operations, coordinate consultants, manage scope, schedule, and budget performance, and contribute hands-on technical expertise. This position requires organizational strength, clear communication, and a commitment to high-quality documentation and client care.
Key skill sets and abilities
Develop project documentation from schematic design through construction documents
Collaborate with the Opsis team, contractor and consultants throughout construction to ensure that design intent is delivered
Respond to RFI’s and submittals throughout construction administration phases
A passion for fostering a collaborative and thoughtful design process, with an understanding of the value and power of collaborative design
Ability and desire to lead projects with a degree of independence commensurate with the size and complexity of the project
Provide Mentorship to emerging professionals
May play a key role in interviews during the pursuit phase. Functions as a Project Manager/Project Architect on smaller-scale projects and as a Project Manager on medium projects
Comfort with developing and negotiating fees with Principal oversight
Requirements include
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture
Proficiency with industry standard design software, including Revit, Sketchup, Rhino and Enscape is required
7+ years’ experience in a professional architectural practice
Architectural License
Preferred attributes
Experience or specialization in community recreation, sports and athletics, higher education, student housing and performing arts
DBIA accreditation and Progressive Design-Build experience
LEED Accreditation or a strong interest in sustainable design
A fundamental commitment to justice, equity, diversity, inclusion and the power and potential of architecture to be a catalyst in the creation of a more open, empathetic, and regenerative society
