Training Instructor

Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: 1. As the primary instructor, prepares time schedules, work plans, and establishes learning objectives, instructional methods & techniques, training materials and aids for the Criminal Investigator 1811 Series for PFPA. 2.

Develops and modifies original course material, to include study guides, visual aids, simulations (mock-ups), written tests, proficiency charts, training aids, and course outlines. Design course integration to maximize use of technological programs and processes. 3.

Develops guidance to be shared with PFPA staff in determining training requirements for all Criminal Investigators. 4. Responsible for coordination of resource requirements to ensure adequate manpower, materials, facilities, equipment, funds, and budgets are available to support assigned duties. 5.

Conducts review of course curriculum and measurement materials submitted by instructional design team. 6. Maintains appropriate instructor and student training records to ensure all applicable federal regulations and standards are met. 7.

Presents instruction in both classroom and the field environment on Criminal Investigator and Protective Service Operations programs.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. The Training Instructor occupation has specific educational requirements which apply to all positions. 1. Undergraduate and Graduate Education degree with a Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. OR 2.

One year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled.

Candidates for this position must clearly demonstrate in their resume that they possess specialized experience in: 1) preparing curriculum and learning environment for instruction for criminal investigators and protective service agents.; and 2) developing and utilizing various instructional methodologies to deliver course content; and 3) presenting curriculum in instructor lead and virtual based learning environments; and 4) reviewing curriculum for revision due to course content or training requirements changes; and 5) evaluating and documenting curriculum for effectiveness.

AND You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates one year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
