Supervisory Police Officer

Plan and direct law enforcement operations to ensure mission readiness and regulatory compliance.

Coordinate emergency response, investigations, and critical incident law enforcement activities.

Establish comprehensive training programs to maintain mission readiness and regulatory compliance.

Supervise multi-shift workforce managing performance, staffing, training, and resources.

Formulate long-range plans, budgets, and policies for law enforcement.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Direct law enforcement and physical security shift operations to ensure the protection of life, property, and civil rights within an installation or facility; (2) Evaluate the performance and training needs of subordinate police officers to resolve operational challenges and recommend appropriate administrative or personnel actions; and (3) Coordinate initial emergency responses for major crime scenes or critical incidents to secure the area, preserve evidence, and integrate efforts with other on-scene first responders.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next or second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09 or GS-10). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
