As a Business Operations Manager, you will perform the following duties: Strategic Planning and Policy Management: Develop strategic plans, provide policy recommendations, and advise senior leadership on resource allocation and budget options. Serves on NSF wide working groups related to policy, liaison to other organizations, etc.

Human Capital Management: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and human resources activities to ensure effective use of human resources and compliance with regulations. Serves as key human capital advisor to leadership.

Financial Management and Resource Allocation: Manage organizational budgets, forecast resource needs, analyze financial data, and ensure compliance with NSF policies. Aligns budget with operational needs.

Business Operations, Analysis, and Management: Identify, assess and implement efficient business processes, oversee contracts, financial reporting, and internal controls, and manage organizational resources.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Plan, assign, and review work, evaluate employee performance, provide training, and address employee development and administrative matters. Other duties as assigned.

To qualify at the GS-14 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 Level in the Federal service overseeing business operations functions, including oversight of human capital and financial resources, for an organization. Examples of specialized experience include: Allocating both human and financial resources.

Establishing and implementing effective administrative and business processes for an organization. Advising on staffing and recruitment activities. Advising on and supporting budget justification, formulation, and execution process.

Experience refers to paid/unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training/experience that translates directly to paid work. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
