MECHANICAL ENGINEER

You will resolve technical issues under the cognizance of the Chief Engineer.

You will ensure engineering data complies with design specification, mechanical engineering practice and the applicable contract.

You will conduct technical evaluations and investigations and resolve problems that arise during design, construction and overhaul of naval ships.

You will review and evaluate changes to ship repair specifications to determine the impact on the system design, operation, construction schedule and cost.

You will identify and resolve problems that arise during inspections and tests.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer serving as a technical advisor of shipboard systems (e.g. design, construction, testing, and evaluation) to provide guidance and resolve problems (e.g. testing issues, changes to ship's specifications, guidance plans, contract drawings, change orders, and field requests) for the construction, modernization or improvement of ships.
