You will act as a lead troubleshooter in the identification and resolution of problems encountered during installation, grooming, or testing phases.

You will serve as a mechanical engineer who performs engineering and planning duties in connection with the repair, maintenance, and alterations of fluid/mechanical ship systems for submarines and surface ships.

You will interface with various activities, production shops, and ship’s force to coordinate and develop plans for the repair of fluid/mechanical ship systems.

You will conduct independent engineering studies, investigations, and analysis for the solution of unusual or unprecedented engineering problems. These engineering evaluations may be used to support Departures from Specifications (DFS)

You will identify material requirements and resolve material deficiencies.

You will plan, develop, and define engineering guidelines and objectives to be applied in the technical areas of work.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Engineer applying professional engineering theories, concepts, and principles to provide planning and technical direction for shipyard fluid or mechanical systems projects on submarine and surface ships systems and components and ensure adherence to shipyard processes, operations, and engineering standards.
