SUPERVISORY MECHANICAL ENGINEER

You will serve as a Branch Head and have management and final technical responsibility for all functions under the branch.

You will act as the SUPSHIP technical expert for matters relating to the design, construction, repair, testing and operation of propulsion plant systems.

You will plan work to be accomplished by branch personnel, set priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.

You will advise and instruct branch personnel on both technical and administrative matters.

You will provide management focus in the areas of continuous process improvement, facilitation of team building, acquisition reform initiatives, quality improvement and the identification and mitigation of technical risk.

You will provide supervision to include guidance on technical and administrative matters, identifying developmental training needs, balancing workload to meet critical/emergent requirements, and assigning work to subordinates based on priorities.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer working with technical personnel to review, analyze, research, or recommend corrective actions pertaining to submarine design, operations, or construction deficiencies.
