The Japan Field Marketing Specialist will work closely with the Head of Japan Field Marketing to lead and execute strategic programs with cross-functional teams to build the overall pipeline in Japan . This plan will proceed in close alignment with Sales Directors, Inside Sales, Partner/Channel Sales, and the broader Go-to-Market team.

This role will drive the execution of events and campaigns and create business value in collaboration with partners. This position reports directly to the Head of Japan Field Marketing.

This position serves as one of the primary liaisons between the SDR team, the Field Sales team, and the Marketing team. This role aims to increase brand awareness, generate demand, and achieve targets utilizing a wide variety of marketing methods and strategies, including account-targeted programs, trade shows, conferences, specific field events, campaigns and assets, direct mail, webinars, and workshops.

The primary objective of this position is to acquire new customers, nurture leads into the sales pipeline, and accelerate the sales cycle for prospects more efficiently through the execution of marketing programs.

What you’ll be doing

Collaborate with the Field Marketing Team and Partner Marketing Team to independently lead and execute various events, programs, and campaigns to support Okta's achievement of sales targets. Also, support the management of lead generation through closure across all activities and maintain the balance of pipeline goals.

Plan and execute the management of materials for campaigns, programs, and events, exhibit materials, local and online events, and sales/field events, in coordination with the Head of Japan Field Marketing. Promote activities by working closely with the Sales team and SDRs during pre-event preparations to gain support for event success.

Execute event strategies and plans, and project manage the overall logistics of participating events, on-site execution, and post-event results analysis.

Collaborate with various vendor teams to drive the planning and execution of projects and events.

Communicate with teams such as Sales, SE (Solutions Engineers), Inside Sales, and, if necessary, the APJ Marketing team, functioning as a primary liaison.

Increase brand awareness and generate demand using a wide variety of marketing methods in Japan, including account-targeted programs, trade shows, conferences, events, campaigns, direct mail, and webinars.

Effectively collaborate cross-functionally to define, project manage, and execute event program goals, messaging, tactics, audience generation email campaigns, speaker plans, collateral creation, post-event lead processing and follow-up, and all other general logistics.

Measure and analyze the results of marketing activities and the health of the pipeline. Additionally, collect post-event feedback and create post-event reports and analysis.

What you’ll bring to the role

Experience in marketing activities driving demand generation, event planning to execution, and campaign management, within B2B or B2C marketing.

An expert in multi-tasking, prioritization, and schedule management, with consistent proven results and experience in complex event programs involving partners, multiple product lines, and diverse cross-functional teams within the organization.

Ability to effectively plan, execute, and report on marketing programs in collaboration with internal and external partners and cross-functional teams.

Project management experience including budget management for various programs, venue selection, vendor sourcing and management, project planning, event flow management, promotion and registration, content development, and on-site management.

Native level Japanese and excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).

Highly motivated, proactive, and self-starting individual.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Ability to maintain excellent time management.

And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following!

Excellent presentation skills and confidence in communicating with various stakeholders in Japanese.

Experience with sales and marketing tools such as Google Cloud (GCP), Salesforce, Marketo, Tableau, and Asana.

Marketing experience in B2B SaaS (enterprise cloud services) or marketing technology software companies.

Experience utilizing AI tools for data analysis or marketing activities.
