Maintenance Mechanic Worker

You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic Worker and be responsible for responding to fire alarms, security alarms, and emergencies (electrical failures, water leaks, floods, equipment failures, etc.) when standing 1st or 2nd shift watch. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.

Typical work assignments include: Cleaning such components as heat exchangers, lube oil coolers, evaporators, boiler tubes, etc. Cleaning, lubricating and maintaining the tools and equipment of the various trades.

Performing routine preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment such as air handlers, fan coils, condensing units, pumps, and air compressor. Performs routine preventative maintenance and adjusts equipment controls such as temperature sensors, thermostats, and leak detectors.

Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired.

(includes blueprinting reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Materials National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
