As a Supervisory IT Specialist (PLCYPLN) at the GS-2210-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Supervisory Leadership: Exercises full supervisory and administrative control over a subordinate staff of IT professionals.
Responsibilities include assigning and reviewing work, evaluating performance, resolving employee grievances, identifying training needs, and managing a hybrid workforce of federal employees and contractors.
IT Policy & Strategic Planning: Formulates, develops, and implements comprehensive IT policies, strategic plans, and standard operating procedures that align with and support the Defense Information School (DINFOS) academic and organizational missions.
Technology Assessment & Modernization: Assesses the impact of forecasted technological changes, emerging industry trends, and higher-headquarters DoD directives to develop long-range IT investment plans and drive continuous modernization of the enterprise infrastructure.
Project & Resource Management: Directs the planning, execution, and oversight of complex, large-scale IT projects and system implementations, ensuring initiatives are completed on schedule, within budget, and prioritized according to strategic mission value.
Cybersecurity & Compliance Integration: Ensures robust cybersecurity principles and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements are fully integrated into all IT projects, system lifecycles, and directorate policies from inception to deployment.
Technical Authority & Advisory Services: Serves as the primary technical authority and advisor to senior executive leadership, presenting data-driven recommendations, risk assessments, and business cases to gain consensus on critical IT investments and enterprise architecture changes.
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Directing the planning, programming, budgeting, and execution (PPBE) of enterprise IT modernization initiatives and capital investments, establishing policies and governance for educational networks, academic systems, and media infrastructure supporting thousands of users across residential and distance learning environments.
Serving as principal cybersecurity and IT advisor to executive leadership and external defense agencies, evaluating emerging technologies, shaping long-range IT architecture, and defending strategic IT initiatives and resource allocations before executive boards.
Exercising full supervisory authority over a multi-disciplinary technical team of civilian, military, and contractor personnel, directing daily operations, establishing performance metrics, aligning workforce development with strategic goals, and ensuring compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principles.

This position has an individual occupational requirement (IOR) which must be met in order to qualify for this position. You must have Information Technology (IT)-related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following four competencies listed below: 1.
