Catering Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and organised Catering Assistant to join our catering team in Perth, United Kingdom. This is a permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a professional hospitality environment. The successful candidate will provide essential support to our catering operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation, service, and hygiene are maintained at all times.

Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items in accordance with recipes and food safety standards

• Support the setup and breakdown of catering events, including arranging tables, chairs, and service equipment

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food preparation areas, adhering to strict hygiene protocols

• Assist with the serving of food and beverages to guests, ensuring a professional and courteous service
• Help with stock management, including receiving, storing, and rotating food items appropriately

Wash, clean, and sterilise kitchen equipment and utensils to the required standards

• Support senior catering staff with general duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to learn
• Respond promptly to requests from team members and contribute to a positive working environment
• Comply with all food safety regulations and organisational policies at all times

Demonstrable knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices (or willingness to obtain Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2)

Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or food service environment (desirable)

• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent people skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards

• Reliable and punctual with flexibility to work varied shift patterns, including weekends and evenings
• Basic communication skills and ability to follow instructions clearly
• Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen awareness (desirable)
• Experience with food service equipment and kitchen operations (desirable)
