Senior Backup Engineer

For a client, we are currently looking for an experienced Senior Backup Engineer to join a global infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the enterprise backup environment, ensuring reliable and high-quality backup and recovery services for business-critical systems.

Your Responsibilities

• Support backup and restore operational activities across the enterprise environment
• Collaborate on the planning, design, and execution of disaster recovery tests
• Implement and enhance monitoring and automation capabilities for backup and restore operations
• Contribute to the design and evolution of the backup infrastructure, supporting modernization initiatives, legacy system transformations, and migration projects
• Assist with infrastructure-related activities and participate in an on-call support rotation

Your Profile

• Higher education degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 3–5 years of practical experience in backup engineering, backup management, and enterprise backup solutions
• Solid foundational knowledge of SAN storage, Linux, and Windows environments, with hands-on experience in data recovery exercises and Disaster Recovery planning
• Familiarity with Linux (Red Hat) and UNIX-based operating systems; a strong interest in automation is highly valued
• ITIL and TOGAF certifications are considered an advantage
• Hands-on professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of prioritizing effectively and taking ownership of tasks and responsibilities
• Strong team player with a high level of integrity, accountability, and professional ethics
• Fluent in English
