Serves as a Geospatial Information System (GIS) subject matter expert and program administrator.

Identify requirements and implements advanced analytical techniques to solve complex GIS issues.

Provide technical services, training, and develops applications/databases for installation personnel authorized to use GIS.

Serve as the senior specialist on Global Positioning System (GPS) surveying and as the primary point of contact and coordination on all matters related to Mapping/Surveying.

Update and maintain installation maps, gathering data from surveys, both visual and physical, and real property data.

Specialized Experience for GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes administering the installation's comprehensive GIS program and related mapping systems to independently develop, update, and manage crucial geospatial data products supporting installation operations and engineering high-accuracy installation maps, utility system layouts, and official real estate exhibits by utilizing advanced GPS surveying, complex data integration, and technical validation during construction acceptances.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)
