Essential Functions

Designs and builds scalable applications across the front-end, back-end, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps while effectively leveraging AI-powered development tools to accelerate software delivery, improve code quality, and automate engineering workflows.

Designs and develops scalable back-end services and APIs primarily in Python, while contributing to front-end interfaces as needed to deliver full-stack features end to end.

Builds and maintains CI/CD pipelines and manages cloud infrastructure using tools like Terraform. Monitors production systems, troubleshoots incidents, and drives root-cause fixes.

Designs, writes, validates, and modifies code and scripts efficiently to support the company internal and external systems in partnership with the Database Administrator and Technical Services.

Partners with the Database Administrator to design SQL Server tables, maintain data integrity, and develop stored procedures, SSRS, and SSIS packages. Provides operational backup for routine data maintenance.

Collaborates with product, QA, and other engineers to plan and deliver features, and reviews code to maintain quality and share knowledge with other developers. Improves deployment reliability, observability, and system performance, and contributes to architecture decisions and technical roadmap planning.

Leads the process of conceptualizing and developing new programs, web applications, and webservice integrations including development and management of API’s.

Produces logical diagrams that outline current and future state.

Leads LifePRO application support including evaluation, testing and deployment of periodic system releases and new functionality.

Monitors for efficient resource use of programs, web applications, webservices, and other systems

Utilizes AI-powered coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to accelerate software development.

Develops and executes effective testing plans at the program and system level

Monitors the operation of assigned programs and responds to problems by diagnosing and correcting errors in logic and coding

Reviews production data and reports to ensure completion of scheduled jobs, data quality and integrity

Creates and maintains documentation related to assigned web applications, programs and other systems in accordance with departmental and team standards, including disaster recovery and data center instructions

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree required preferably in computer science, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience

Eight years of experience in programming or related information technology, or related experience

Experience or training in T-SQL, C# and .NET

Experience working in AWS Cloud Environment

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills

Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer service skills

Strong skills building scalable full-stack applications and cloud-native solutions, leveraging AI-powered tools to enhance software delivery, code quality, and engineering automation

Knowledge of insurance operations, business systems, and software design principles

Experience with front-end and back-end development technologies, including modern JavaScript frameworks and languages such as Python, .NET, Java, or Node.js

Experience building APIs, authentication solutions (OAuth2, JWT, SSO), and cloud-native applications

Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, Git, and collaborative development practices

Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and Agile/Scrum methodologies

Familiarity with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

The hiring salary range for this position will vary based on geographic location, falling within either of the following:

$100,085 - $138,285 or $110,624 - $152,122 A hiring range represents a subset of the full salary range. The actual salary will depend on several factors, including relevant education, skills, and experience of an applicant, geographic location, and business needs.
