PhD Student in Radiochemistry

## Your tasks ##

* Develop new radiochemical methods and instrumentation for studies of superheavy elements

* Produce radioisotopes of the lighter homologs of superheavy elements using PSI's large-scale research infrastructure to test and optimize your ideas

* Perform innovative chemical experiments on superheavy elements at leading accelerator facilities worldwide as part of international collaborations

* Analyze and interpret experimental data to determine thermochemical properties of the heaviest elements

* Present your research at international conferences and publish your results in leading peer-reviewed scientific journals

## Your profile ##

* Master's degree in Chemistry (preferably Physical Chemistry), applicants with a Master's degree in Physics are also encouraged to apply

* Highly motivated, curious, and eager to learn

* Strong interest in experimental research and the development of new methods and instrumentation

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

* Team player with good written and spoken English skills

* Prior knowledge of radiochemistry is an advantage but not required
