The DV/IPV Program includes the aims, goals, objectives, activities, and care coordination of the needs of survivors of domestic violence victims and intimate partner violence.
Serves as the subject expert to medical staff, nursing staff, housekeeping and allied health staff relating to the care of victims/survivors; provides consultation, guidance and assistance to staff regarding patient equipment, materials and supplies for forensic evident collection according to the standards of care; assures Service Unit utilizes safe equipment, materials and supplies to prevention harm/loss or incorrectly collected forensic evidence.
Serves as the facilitator and the subject matter expert to DV/IPV; coordinates with local law enforcement, prosecution, judicial, victim advocates and mental health services; advocates for victims/survivors of DV/IPV with local and regional resources; prepares, distributes and maintains all minutes and documents of the Domestic Violence Response Team committee; prepares and submits all required reports for Service Unit to the Domestic Violence Prevention Initiative (DVPI) program consultants accordingly and follow up with counseling services, native healing services or medical follow up; maintains files according to federal regulations; assures confidentiality at all times.
Participates in preventive health activities with local team; provides primary prevention activities regarding domestic violence/intimate partner violence in local schools; conducts in-service education for nursing and medical staff regarding forensic medical evidence collection; consults with the local law enforcement and prosecutor office regarding medical related issues and forensic evidence.
Assists nursing team care coordinators with all subspecialty clinics and in the Emergency Department; provides specialized health education to DV/IPV victims with special health care needs; organizes and coordinates multidisciplinary care conferences on medically complex and high-risk patients.
Plans program expansion to provide a Pediatric Sexual Assault/Abuse program. Assists with patient care in the Emergency Department, utilizes the nursing process and provides skilled and comprehensive nursing care to patients.
Closely observes patients for conditions requiring emergency measures; recognizes, identifies, and interprets serious clinical situations; initiates and provides appropriate immediate/emergency measures.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Education - A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required.
This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (external link), Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (external link), Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (external link), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
Licensure- For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Independently carrying out the duties of providing care to victims of Domestic violence/Intimate Partner Violence, assessment of patient health needs, including mental/emotional/physical factors; assessing and referring patients for further medical care, providing domestic violence education to staff and/or communities, gathering and analyzing data for exam programs and provides quarterly reports.
