The posting
The ship's Nurse is responsible for providing appropriateday-to-day health care to guests and crew onboard. Performs nursingcare in a proficient, calm and professional manner during routine work shiftsas well as during a crisis, increased workload or emergency.
Responsibilities
Starting an intravenous infusion
Assisting with a cardiac arrest with drugs, ventilation and compression
Calculates correct drug dosage andadministers medication as per physician’s prescription or order
Checks emergency equipment,maintains established par levels of medical supplies and medications
Assists the physician with procedures,treatments, document nursing interventions, observations and sets up treatmentrooms
Initiates nursing intervention fornon-urgent patients, such as but not limited to ice application, dressings,splints and bandages
Requirements
Nursing school degree with minimum two years of clinical experience
Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificates
Experience with cardiac care, trauma, internal medicine
Emergency room and general practice background
Pleasant and communicative character
Professional attitude and appearance
Reliability and hard work
Fluently spoken English
