Serves as a Personnel Psychologist for the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) Human Performance (HP) Division within the Human Performance and Wellness (HPW) Directorate, USASOC Headquarters.
Evaluates, analyzes, researches, and implements program guidance regarding mental performance for the HP Division Chief to validate current and future requirements.
Conducts analysis and research on cognitive performance aspects of the HP program.
Functions as the recognized technical authority in cognitive performance on the USASOC HPW staff.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Program Management & Development in designing, implementing, evaluating, and improving large-scale cognitive or mental performance programs ; 2) Identifying best practices, addressing program gaps, and developing innovative concepts; 3) Subject Matter Expert in Sports Psychology and Cognitive Performance ; 4) Technical authority and consultant on cognitive performance ; 5) Advanced knowledge of sports psychological principles, theories, and methodologies to enhance mental readiness, health, and fitness ; 7) Conduct research on cognitive performance, translate findings into actionable recommendations, and draft program policies and standards; 8) Experience with emerging research from both public and private sectors; 9): Coordinate with a wide range of partners, such as military leadership, research labs, universities, and other government agencies, to facilitate research and share lessons learned.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
