Supervises and manages 68W training instructors, assigns work based on workload and instructor qualifications, conducts performance reviews, and oversees evaluation plans, awards, and counseling actions.

Delivers didactic and hands-on instruction in EMT-B, TC3, medical simulation, evacuation, CBRNE, and limited primary care using approved POI materials, training aids, and standardized evaluation processes.

Develops, updates, and maintains lesson plans, study guides, tests, and instructional aids; ensures all materials align with POI requirements and current medical practices.

Manages team-level quality control programs, audits classroom instruction, maintains instructor credentialing records, and ensures compliance with regulatory guidance, SOPs, and evaluation standards.

Basic Requirements Supervisory Training Specialist (Combat Medic) GS-1712-11: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience is described as developing and managing cognitive and psychomotor testing materials, applying academic policies, and maintaining accurate student and course data for large training populations.

Demonstrated ability to oversee testing operations, ensure compliance with EMT, TC3, and 68W POI standards, and coordinate with internal and external agencies. Skilled in supervising staff, issuing guidance, evaluating performance, and maintaining accountability of medical and non-medical equipment to support training program effectiveness.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Health Professions Education.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Note: You must attach NREMT and BLS certification to application package in order for it to be reviewed.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education and Training Instructor Assessment Learning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
