With around 2,100 Bachelor and Master students, Zurich University of the Arts is one of the major and most diverse universities of the arts in Europe. The study and research programme covers the areas of art education, design, film, fine arts, music, dance, theatre and transdisciplinary studies.

In the centre of Zurich, the ZHdK is a dynamic place where passionate people from over 75 countries work, study, teach, research and further their education. The university has numerous exhibition and performance venues, where students projects can be shown to the public.

The Department of Fine Arts Master Fine Arts is looking to hire a

Lecturer “Artistic Practice” 50%

to start on 1 August 2027 (or by arrangement).

We are looking for a personality with an established artistic practice in the field of contemporary art. The level of employment consists 50% in teaching along with the participation in the academic self\-governance and administration. As a lecturer you will shape the Master Major Fine Arts in collaboration with the existing faculty.

We offer you a position in an inspiring environment and interesting work with international students and a network of artists, theorists, and researchers in teaching roles. You will find yourself in a varied and diverse professional setting; in addition to your teaching duties, you will be able to develop your own research projects and implement them at the University and in cooperation with domestic and international universities or other external partners.

Your profile

An active and international artistic practice

A university or academy degree at Master’s level in a relevant field

Teaching experience at the tertiary level

Commitment to innovative teaching (including co\-teaching)

Initiative and the ability to engage in dialogue, integrate into a new environment

Willingness to contribute to the development of the University of the Arts and to work on committees

Engagement in strengthening the international and national reputation of the University of the Arts

Language skills: English (native or C2\) and German (at least B2\), in writing and speaking

Workplace: Zurich
