The Company
Outschool’s mission is to inspire kids to love learning. In our fast-changing world, the traditional educational system struggles to meet the diverse and evolving needs of young learners. Outschool reimagines this system, offering flexible and engaging learning experiences as a supplement and alternative to traditional education. By connecting learners with a global community of teachers and peers through our online platform, we make learning personal, dynamic, and deeply human.
We've made significant strides since launching our marketplace of live online classes in 2017. Finding initial success with secular homeschoolers, we then expanded to enrichment learning to meet the needs of a wider audience, growing our business 16x since 2019.
Post-pandemic, we have evolved our platform to power academic learning, incorporated AI, and have begun to grow our international community. We're proud to have served over 1.5M passionate learners with more than $100M in annual bookings.
Driving disruptive, positive change in education is rewarding and hard. Outschool team members are encouraged to challenge themselves, take risks, and grow in their careers. We look for talented people whose sense of urgency, innate curiosity, and determination to drive impact will help Outschool achieve outsized results in pursuit of our mission.
We invite you to be part of an ambitious team dedicated to ensuring every learner can navigate the future with curiosity, resilience, and a love of learning.
The Role
As a Product Manager at Outschool, you’ll build products that shape how millions of learners, families, and educators experience education. You’ll tackle complex, high-impact problems across our consumer marketplace and our growing ESA (Education Savings Account) business, where we’re helping families use education funds to access high-quality learning opportunities.
You’ll work closely with engineering, design, data, marketing, operations, and other teams to identify the biggest opportunities, set product strategy, and turn ideas into simple, impactful experiences.
We’re hiring across levels - from early-career PMs through product leaders - and will scope the role based on your experience, strengths, and the problems where you can have the greatest impact.
Your work might span the learner, parent, educator, or marketplace experience, from helping families discover the right classes, to building tools that enable educators to thrive, to creating new experiences for ESA families and strengthening the systems that power our marketplace.
Core Responsibilities
Identify the most important near- and long-term product opportunities and translate them into clear strategies, roadmaps, and priorities.
Own products end-to-end—from discovery and strategy through execution, launch, experimentation, and iteration.
Develop a deep understanding of our customers and marketplace through research, data, and direct customer insight.
Partner with engineering, design, data, and cross-functional teams to turn ambiguous problems into elegant, scalable solutions.
Define success metrics, design experiments, analyze results, and use quantitative and qualitative insights to drive decisions.
Build alignment around product vision, make thoughtful tradeoffs, and keep teams moving toward meaningful outcomes.
Understand Outschool’s strategic and competitive position and build products that differentiate us in the market.
Help foster a product culture grounded in customer empathy, experimentation, learning, and measurable impact.
Desired Experience & Skills
Professional product management experience; level will be determined based on experience and scope.
Experience working closely with engineering, design, data, and other cross-functional partners and having a track record of taking ownership, navigating ambiguity, and delivering meaningful outcomes.
Experience owning the full product lifecycle, from identifying opportunities and defining strategy to launch and iteration.
Strong product sense and the ability to identify the problems that matter most.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking, with the ability to use data to inform decisions and measure impact.
Strong quantitative skills, including the ability to define experiments and analyze results
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clarity and alignment across teams.
For more senior candidates, we’ll also look for experience setting product strategy, influencing across an organization, mentoring other PMs, and driving impact through complex, highly ambiguous problems.
Other Considerations
Experience in EdTech or building products for learners, educators, or families
Familiarity with search, discovery, personalization, AI, tooling, data insights, and/or payment products
Background in marketplace technologies
Experience at a fast-paced startup or high-growth company
