Police Officer (Military Ocean Terminal)

Issue traffic citations and formal warnings to document violations and discourage unsafe driving behavior on the installation.

Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic at controlled points to ensure orderly movement and prevent accidents during peak hours or special events.

Operate a firearm in the performance of duty in accordance with proper procedures.

Categorize Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AAE) to ensure proper handling and protect military munitions against sabotage, espionage, theft, or damage.

Investigate Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and SCIF alarms to determine probable cause and prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information.

Administer lifesaving first aid to stabilize victims during emergencies until medical personnel arrive.

Intercept and board unauthorized vessels in restricted waters to determine potential criminal threats and safeguard military assets.

Apprehend criminal suspects based on investigative facts and the determination of probable cause.

Apply Random Anti-terrorism Measures (RAM) and Force Protection (FP) Conditions at entry points to deter unauthorized access to installation.

Conduct waterside security patrols of U.S. Military, non-military, and foreign ships.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experiences: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in 1. Conducting routine vehicle patrols to enforce traffic regulations; 2. Controlling installation access points to prevent unauthorized entry; 3.

Responding to emergency calls to secure initial incident scenes; and/or 4. Drafting police incident reports to document official law enforcement actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
