The posting

Directs and motivates Police Officers and Special Police Officers on a daily basis in one of the two 12-hour shifts in law enforcement.

Oversees all dispatcher operations to ensure effective transmission of information and coordination of patrol assignments.

Assigns and directs law enforcement personnel at fixed posts, mobile patrols (vehicular and foot), and special assignments.

Prepares detailed incident reports and ensure subordinate officers maintain accurate documentation and logs.

Establishes working knowledge and be able to oversee immediate activation and implementation of GPO's Emergency Notification Systems.

To qualify for the Supervisory Police Officer, PZ-0083-7, you must meet the following requirements: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PZ-06 grade level in the Federal Service.

Specialized experience is defined as experience that includes: 1) Directing the work of law enforcement engaged in specified enforcement programs/operations; 2) Overseeing police officers performing patrol, checkpoint, and related law enforcement/protective duties; 3) Providing administrative and technical supervision in law enforcement practices and policies; AND 4) Working with federal, state, and local agencies concerning investigations involving incidents of mutual interest.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
