Plumber

You will serve as a Plumber and be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance (PM/CM) on plumbing, electrical and air conditioning, HVAC, as well as a variety of tasks involved in the upkeep of buildings, grounds and related structures, fixtures, and utilities.

Typical work assignments include: Following sketches, specifications, guides, codes, verbal orders, and supervisory instructions to complete all maintenance, improvement, and repair work associated with water distribution, filtration and plumbing systems, sanitary and storm-water drainage systems and their associated components.

Assembling, installing, maintaining and pressure testing all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.

Carrying out repair, maintenance, or installation of equipment for the generation, utilization, or distribution of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC) systems. Troubleshooting the sources of plumbing and HVAC malfunctions and completing repairs as indicated or according to work orders.

Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired.

Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. Ability to interpret instructions and specifications, including blueprint reading. Measurement and Layout. Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic). Troubleshooting.
