Summary
As a Pharmacist Advisor at Gainwell, you will provide clinical expertise and strategic guidance to support pharmacy programs, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant medication management solutions.
This role is responsible for advising on clinical policies, drug utilization, and pharmacy operations while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance program performance and patient outcomes. You will play a key role in aligning pharmacy strategies with regulatory requirements and organizational objectives.
In addition to prior authorization activities, this role will support state meetings and assist with state-required deliverables related to account operations. This position provides broader clinical and operational support and is not solely focused on prior authorization responsibilities.
Your role in our mission
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including Medicaid requirements
Conduct clinical evaluations of medication therapy, including prior authorization reviews and drug utilization assessments
Perform peer-to-peer consultations with providers and support prescriber outreach for identified clinical interventions
Provide clinical guidance to call center teams and support pharmacy-related inquiries and escalations
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, program optimization, and development of best practices
2-4 years of clinical pharmacy experience required
Strong knowledge of clinical pharmacy programs, drug utilization review, and regulatory requirements
Experience with Medicaid/Medicare pharmacy programs or PBM environments preferred
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
What you should expect in this role
Remote-based role within the United States with flexibility to support client and business needs
Work schedule: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM CST for PA coverage
Travel: 0-10%

The pay range for this position is $90,900.00 - $129,900.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Put your passion to work at Gainwell.
