About Wayflyer
Today's small businesses need a capital provider that keeps pace with their growth ambitions. Traditional financing options are slow, cumbersome and often out of reach. That's why we built Wayflyer.
Our technology allows us to assess businesses in minutes, generate financing offers that reflect their growth potential and send funds in as little as 24 hours. To date, we've deployed over $6bn to thousands of businesses worldwide, backed by Tier 1 banks like J.P. Morgan.
You'll be collaborating with ambitious colleagues from around the world. We have offices in Dublin, London, New York, Charlotte, Berlin and Sydney.
The challenge
We assess businesses in minutes and send funds in as little as 24 hours. That only works if the systems behind it are fast, reliable, and built to scale as we push into new markets. Right now, that means untangling recurring problems across Underwriting, Product, and Sales, and building the automations that stop them coming back.
What you'll actually do
Root-cause the recurring problems that slow us down. You'll define your own KPIs, dig into self-sourced data, and take your findings straight to Director and VP-level leadership.
Build automations that solve a whole business domain, not a single ticket. You'll work across Jira, Hubspot, Pipedream, Tines, and Scriptrunner, and you'll own them end to end: scoping, building, testing, launching.
Run cross-functional projects from definition to delivery. You'll own the relationship with teams like Underwriting, Product & Engineering, and Sales globally, and manage dependencies that sit outside your own team.
Find the inefficiencies that span two or more business units before anyone asks you to. You'll help shape the team's roadmap and support teammates as they grow.
Build the AI layer on top of our existing workflows. Using tools like Claude and Tines' AI Agent actions, you'll build them to triage and resolve tickets, speed up routing, and add an intelligence layer on top of existing workflows, extending efforts like our ticket-scoping assistant and fraud-detection agents, not just tinkering alongside them.
What this role could turn into
This function moves people fast. Recent paths from this seat include a Senior Operations Manager role owning a full domain end to end, a Product Ops or Automation Lead role going deeper on the technical build, or a cross-functional leadership role managing a small team of Ops generalists.
Who thrives here
Someone who digs in when something breaks instead of escalating and waiting. You've done your own homework before you ask for help, and when you do ask, you bring options, not just the question. You're relentless about root cause, not just the symptom in front of you. You're sharp on prioritisation.
You know the difference between busy and useful, and you can explain why you said yes, no, or not yet in a way people accept. People also just like working with you. You're generous with your time and knowledge, and people are generous back. You care about diversity, equality, and inclusion, and you say something when we can do better.
We hire for range
You have 4+ years of relevant experience, ideally at a fast-paced start-up or scale-up, and you've owned projects independently end to end.
You can point to real examples of scoping, building, and owning workflow automations end-to-end (Jira, HubSpot, Pipedream, Tines, Scriptrunner or similar), not just supporting them, and of leading cross-functional teams to deliver solutions, including managing stakeholders outside your own team.
Hands-on SQL experience is required, along with knowledge of Python or another scripting language. You've applied AI tools like Claude or Cursor to go from idea to working code or automation, this is a requirement and we do it on a daily basis.
We care more about the trajectory you're on, though experience in financial services, fintech, or B2B is particularly interesting to us.
