Responsible for developing policy and objectives, appraising programs, and initiating requirements for the management of the Employee Health Program bureau wide. Serves as a technical resource regarding management of blood borne pathogen and post exposure prophylaxis for staff in the institutions.
Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems and take appropriate clinical action based on the treatment plan.
Serves as the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) for contracts involving Fitness for Duty examinations, hearing conservation, respiratory protection, and infectious disease treatment.
Interprets healthcare policy guidance and Federal Regulations concerning employee health, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and American Disability Act Amendment Act (ADAA) and provides assistance to managers and employees in its interpretation.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements. Basic Requirements: Education: A graduate or higher-level degree in nursing from an accredited educational program in the area of expertise or specialty indicated by the position.
This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

AND Licensure: Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination and applicants applying for Advance Practice Nurse positions must be licensed or registered by a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States in the clinical specialty required by the position.

AND In addition to the Basic Requirements: Experience: Applicants must have at least one or more full years of Advance Practice Nurse experience that is equivalent to the next lower grade level.
Some examples of qualifying experience are: Experience in conducting medical exams. Experience in creating a medical differential diagnosis and treatment plans based on analysis of test data, laboratory data and radiological studies while considering the symptomatology of the individual.
Experience in interpreting multifaceted independent medical evaluation involving complex disease processes. Experience in prescribing medical treatments. Experience in evaluating employees with medical conditions in positions that require occupationally specific physical requirements.
Experience in communicating with Agency staff with regard to medical aspects of a legal case. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience.
