As a Social Science Research Analyst, you will: Conduct complex statistical analyses and program evaluations to assess performance, identify trends, and support data-driven policy and program decisions.
Lead the development and implementation of research, evaluation, and performance measurement initiatives, including designing methodologies, developing performance indicators, and interpreting findings.
Provide expert technical consultation and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on statistical methods, data quality, performance measurement, and the application of research findings.
Manage projects and collaborative initiatives by overseeing contracts and grants, leading workgroups, preparing reports and presentations, and developing innovative data visualization and dissemination products for diverse audiences.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Qualifications: A. Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR C.
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Minimum Qualifications: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position.
To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Applying advanced research methodologies and statistical analysis to large, complex datasets to evaluate program performance.
Independently designing and executing data management and analytic workflows, including data cleaning, data transformation, and implementing statistical analyses using either Python or R programming languages. Translating analytic findings into actionable insights through data visualization using dashboards.
Apply research and analytical methods to support program improvement and leadership decision making and planning; writing reports of findings in plain language. The documentation must indicate whether the duties were performed full time or, if part time, the "percentage of times" the other duties were performed. It is expected that this documentation is included in the employee's official personnel record.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
