OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST

You will develop and deploy complex data analyses and mathematical models to assess programmatic risks and support acquisition decisions across the entire weapon system life cycle.
You will conduct Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs) and create mathematical optimization models to maximize return on investment and guide strategic resource allocation for funding, personnel, and schedules.
You will lead large-scale analytical projects, translate highly technical findings into formal briefings for senior leadership, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties: 1) Leading the development of complex data analyses for defense weapon systems across all phases of the acquisition life cycle, including applying quantitative techniques to transform raw programmatic data into useful prognostics, evaluating Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) parameters, and assessing operational, schedule, and engineering risks across development, production, and in-service logistics support; 2) Developing and utilizing mathematical algorithms, predictive models, or advanced automation (such as Machine Learning) to analyze complex data and generate useful prognostics; 3) Conducting analyses of alternatives (AoA) and building optimization models designed to maximize the return on investment for program resources and evaluate various risks; 4) Improving analytical methods, tools, databases, and processes while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams to build strategic relationships and achieve common goals; and 5) Leading technical research projects, providing mentorship to less experienced analysts, and translating highly complex analytical findings into formal briefings and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
