As a IT Specialist (APPSW) at the GS-2210-12 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the senior technical subject matter expert (SME) for application development supporting DINFOS academic and administrative systems.
Performs application development throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, operations, maintenance, enhancement, and retirement.
Develops software, interfaces, database objects, and technical documentation while coordinating implementation activities with developers, database administrators, cybersecurity personnel, contractors, and stakeholders. Analyzes business processes and customer requirements supporting DINFOS educational and administrative missions.
Translates functional requirements into technical specifications, application architectures, and system designs. Maintains software code, database structures, interface designs, testing plans, and implementation documentation throughout the application life cycle.
Ensures applications remain reliable, maintainable, interoperable, and aligned with organizational objectives.
You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Serving as a technical lead managing a team of application developers and database administrators.
Executing the full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) utilizing Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps. Developing Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server database objects. Ensuring compliance with federal security and accessibility mandates for enterprise systems.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This position has an individual occupational requirement (IOR) which must be met in order to qualify for this position. You must have Information Technology (IT)-related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following four competencies listed below: 1.
