SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/CUSTSPT)

You will provide advice and assistance to customers; direct the troubleshooting and resolution of complex problems; and provide support in a manner that minimizes interruptions in customers’ ability to carry out critical mission activities.V

You will support the Theater Network Operations and Security Center in the development and maintenance of a comprehensive database of technical queries and corresponding resolutions in Remedy.

You will oversee and direct the local/intra-base network operations, asset management, information assurance and field services for the organization.

You will direct the configuration of local enterprise switches, and routers; monitoring of networks performance; performance of network diagnostics; analysis of network traffic patterns; installation of network software fixes and upgrades, etc.

You will plan, prioritize, and schedule subordinates work including the delegation of work to subordinate supervisors; assign work based on priorities, difficulty of work to be performed, and subordinate capabilities, etc.

You will develop subordinate performance standards and; exercises leave authority; evaluate subordinate performance; and advise and counsel on work and administrative matters; makes decisions on work problems presented by personnel, etc.

You will review the ONE-NET enterprise to assess overall compliance with IT plans and policies and alignment with mission requirements.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1.

Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: plan, design, develop, acquire document, test, implement, integrate, maintain, or modify systems for solving problems or accomplishing work processed by using IT systems such as computers, serves, routers, etc. 2.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: assist customers in installing applications, troubleshoots post-installation problems, and coordinates the technical support of deployed applications. 3.

Oral Communication -Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

IT related experience demonstrating this competency include: prepare and deliver presentations to management on audit findings. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

IT related experience demonstrating this competency include: analyze cost effectiveness, identify and interpret relevant information including industry standards and practices user requirements, develop alternative approaches to addressing issues and recommend solution.

In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of qualifying experience.

Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: Possess qualifying experience directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Experience with Personnel Management, Customer Service, Network Management, Project Management, Information Assurance, Process Improvement, Budget Planning and Execution, and holding a current certification or degree to qualify as CSWF 752 Cyber Policy and Strategy Planner at the Intermediate-level.

Additional certification or educational experience in the IT field such as an undergraduate or graduate degrees in tech or management from an accredited university or certifications, such as Certified Authorization Professional, CompTIA Security+.

Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+), GIAC Security Leadership Certification, Lean Six Sigma, and Project Management Professional are favorably viewed.
