IT Specialist (Network)

Oversees activities in the computer/management arena to support system users, assigned programs, and business processes.

Ensures security compliance is enforced by using approved scanning software to meet Information Assurance Vulnerability Management timelines.

Evaluates operating system operations to make performance improvements and resolve of operating problems.

Provides guidance to system administrators on all other Local Area Networks (LANs) regarding network operation and management.

Coordinating technical and research activities to support communication and data link architectures; 2. Developing system architectures for operations; 3. Participating in cross-functional teams to resolve interoperability challenges and develop solutions; and 4. Recommending technological advancements to enhance system capabilities.

This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
