The posting
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (ENTARCH), located in INFO Systems and Cybersecurity Division, Communications and Info Systems Directorate, Office of the Commander, US Fleet Cyber Command in Fort Meade, MD.
You will supervise, lead, manage, and provide oversight for the development and implementation of new Enterprise technologies and existing capabilities.
You will perform a wide range of IT related functions and activities specific to technologies, architectural and system/component designs, and operations of Enterprise IT systems and network architecture.
You will be responsible for coordination of all Navy DoDIN Network Operations (NetOps), and for supervising DoDIN Operations Division personnel, including military (O3) and civilian personnel.
You will manage a diverse team of highly technical network engineers and information technology specialists.
You will provide management-level peers with guidance and updates as to the effects of changing DoD and Navy policies and convey insights to subordinate units on how the requirements inform their objectives and priorities, and workload planning.
You will manage information system requirements and gateways through rigorous application of information assurance safeguards, access controls, and user validation.
You will serve as a project manager or team leader for your assigned area.
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.
Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Examples of experience demonstrating this competency include: Detecting system risks and providing recommendations to enhance system security. 2.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Experience demonstrating this competency include: Consulting with senior level managers to keep them abreast of evolving operational requirements for new and existing technologies. 3.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Examples of experience demonstrating this competency include: Preparing and providing briefs to working groups to develop and implement policy initiatives and solutions. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Examples of experience demonstrating this competency include: Identifying requirements for changes to IT systems and strategies based on new security technology and threats.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have qualifying experience such as: Experience providing a wide range of supervisory and managerial guidance to subordinates to include personnel actions, advising, performance and work evaluation.
Experience developing plans, schedules and timelines, estimating resource requirements, defining milestones and deliverables, and monitoring day-to-day activities to stay on track with projected completion dates and reports on accomplishments.
Experience conducting analysis and recommending resolutions of complex issues impacting operations Experience providing assistance and advice to users of IT systems and resolving processing problems. This position is within the Work Category Supervision/Management at Work Level Senior, Series and Grade GG-2210-14.
