The posting
You will be responsible for the execution, operation, and maintenance for the Command-and-Control Organizational Information Exchange (C201X) system.
You will provide documentation to the chain of command and submits trouble ticket data into the Enterprise Network Monitoring System (ENMS).
You will act as local TIER II support for issues that watch operators and administrators cannot resolve.
You will provide guidance to the Enterprise Messaging Services’ (EMS’) Communications Watch Officer (CWO) supporting the Joint Fleet Telecommunications Operations Center (JFTOC) Watch Officer to determine potential restoral actions for C2OIX.
You will resolve critical IT problems/conduct systems evaluations.
You will initiate and monitor trouble tickets within the Ticket Management System (TMS) and DISA Global control.
I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Conducting daily reviews of event and application logs to determine situations which may degrade system functions or cause failure. 2.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Providing technical and analytical advice as the technical authority for the maintenance and operation and organizational system. 3.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Providing recommendations regarding system improvements to an Operations Department lead and/or Communications Officer. 4.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Analyzing message process failures and advising support programmers in identifying errors and testing solutions.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have direct applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled.
Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: 1) Developing and managing data systems and analyzing trends using established metrics and associated performance measurement tools and; 2) Diagnosing system failures, network, and hardware and software problems by analyzing message process failures and advising support programmers in identifying errors and testing solutions and; 3) Developing software change proposals and; 4) Performing system administration and providing technical and analytical advice as the technical authority for maintenance and operation.
