As an IT SPEC (ENTARCH), GS-2210-11, (TITLE 32), you will provide IT engineering and installation services to DoD, MAJCOM, NGB and base level customers.
Manage and direct engineering and installations training and operations in garrison and at deployed locations by performing duties to develop, sustain, and enhance network and electromagnetic capabilities to defend national interests from attack. Produce IT architectural installation project packages.
Configure, install, maintain, reconstitute, remove, relocate, overhaul, and modify IP-based systems, circuits, and intrusion detection systems, physical and wireless Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), ground radio, satellite, and telemetry communications, command and control, weather, ground aircraft control and warning radar systems, air traffic control radio, meteorological and navigational aid systems, and airfield systems and other equipment platforms.
Conduct on-site engineering surveys to gather specific project information. Manage implementation and project installation and ensure architecture, configuration, and integration conformity. Conduct on-site IT engineering assistance visits as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
Military Grades: E-5 through E-7 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 36 months or 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade.
In addition to the OPM IORs (Alternative A) specialized experience examples, specialized experience includes experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization; experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls; experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment; experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where it involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion.
The demonstration of knowledge, skills, and abilities/competencies which demonstrate the likelihood to perform successfully the duties of the position and is related to the work of the position to be filled.
These knowledge, skills, and abilities/competencies are normally attained through the equivalent of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level of the position being filled but may now be obtained through other means.
Such demonstratable knowledge, skills, and abilities/competences may be typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT.
