RANGE SAFETY OFFICER (RANGE CONTROLLER)

You will serve as a communication conduit between units operating within a range complex and emergency response agencies.

You will coordinate real time scheduling and authorized use of firing ranges, training facilities, maneuver areas, and special use airspace.

You will control airspace of range training areas by utilizing knowledge of aircraft performance parameters (i.e. airspeed, altitude, etc.) to ensure safety of combat training and readiness events.

You will follow policies, principles and procedures regarding de-conflict combat readiness events.

You will execute real time scheduling to ensure availability of firing ranges, training facility, maneuver areas and special use airspace for training operations.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting or contributing to the Risk Management process; Providing determinations or guidance as to the types of Special Use Airspace; Processing and approving of range requests; AND/OR providing real-time control of approved range activities.
